Construction of Old Timber Road

Community And Infrastructure

As part of our Community Infrastructure and Sustainable Development Project, we embarked on the fixing of the Old Timber Road, Umuahia.

More Info

The Foundation identified this problem and was promoted to act on it after residents and several indigenous commuters of the Old Timber Road requested the Foundation to come and alleviate their sufferings through rehabilitating the road.

Residents and commuters were all too happy following this development.

Our contractors were charged by our founder, Mr. Ken Nnamdi Ukeagu, to use their vast wealth of experience and give the people a lasting road that will endure the elements for generations to come.

The Timber road which leads to many villages around its axis will alleviate the adversity of pliers of Olokoro, Ohokobe Afara and people using the Olokoro road to access Michael Okpara University through the Olokoro By-Pass.

Access to clean, safe and potable water has been a major infrastructural challenge and posed a great health risk to the inhabitants in the communities.

More Info

There has been widespread speculation that drilling a borehole is an unachievable feat in Afugiri community, and indeed, in all its years of existence, not one borehole existed in that area. This claim widely attributed to the undulating terrain in the area, can also

be narrowed down to lack of advanced technical tools & technological know- how as Connak Foundation have successfully drilled 5 functional boreholes in various locations, an achievement that has left many in utter amazement.
